Manfred Gorlach’s Model of World Englishes
This wheel model of Gorlach was appeared in 1988 considered as more organized wheel model than Mc Arthur’s model, it is putting varieties in a sequence of expanding rings. First wheel consists of regional and standard varieties. Second wheel is consisting of sub-regional and semi-standard. Third wheel consists of pidgin and creole more specifically mixed languages. His model is quite like Mc Arthur’s model as both models are ignoring European Englishes, and Gorlach didn’t include English as foreign English.
