1. Minimal responses: This is one of the key factors, minimal response can be defined as the use of “mhm” and “hmm”. Both males and females us these expressions differently, women tend to use this expression to set up the collaborative conversation whereas men use this response to show agreement or they might be less interested in the conversation.
2. Tag questions: Women are frequent users of tag questions in their speech in fact, it is their favorite way to confirm the statement they want to make. Their aim is that they want to get attention from people.
3. Turn-taking: It has been observed through many researches that women less break the rule of turn-taking as compare to men. Women are more likely to give a chance to another speaker to present their point of view but male often stuck to their own point and they don’t give chance to other for presenting their point of view.
4. Changing the topic of conversation: Women are so talkative, they speak a lot and it results to the rapid change in the topic of conversation while man is not interested in speaking a lot, they stick to one topic.
5. Self-disclosure: It is the process of expressing oneself to others, men are good at hiding their emotions, they don’t like to share personal feelings and emotions with others whereas women are more likel to share their personal life with their friends and family. Moreover, they prefer to share their problem, their feelings, and emotions to the people around them.
6. Politeness: Women are politer than men. They tend to use indirect ways of speaking. They don’t use harsh words and speak arrogantly as compare to men.
