Social and economical impacts of spread of English
In the era of Globalization, the spread of English language is growing day by day. Language is very crucial part of globalization, without it globalization is not possible. As we can see that English is the second most spoken language in the world. Many researchers say that English is language of international economy, politics, media, science, technology and globalization. As world become a global village, there is immense need of English language to be learnt. English has status of lingua Franca around the world. No doubt it is international language of the world.
It is tool of communication between many countries for exchanging goods and services. It is international source of doing business across the world. It is as medium of instruction in many countries, it is language of pride, it is status symbol, about 35% of the world’s emails, and cables in English. This language is globalization has affected every country from every aspects including social, politically, financially, economically, and culturally.
