        It refers to social needs. After meeting up the physiological and safety needs, this is on number three in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. An individual is motivated to meet the needs represented at a higher level of the pyramid. 

        As human beings are social animals, we must be in relation with our society because man cannot live aloof, he/she needs anyone to ventilate his/her emotions. So, people seek affectionate relationships with others, so they must feel that they are also an important part of society. 

        It is important for an individual to feel love and affection from the family and friends, it will show them they are highly accepted in the society or society own them. Love and a sense of belongingness help people to develop their confidence in themselves, this is how they can effectively contribute to society. 

        In the education field related to students, these are psychological needs students must feel a sense of belongingness or relatedness because they don’t feel love, affection, and respect from their teacher and peers, they will be unable to participate in class.
